How is FTMO daily loss calculated?

FTMO's 5% daily loss limit is calculated from your INITIAL account balance — not current equity. For $100,000, that's $5,000/day regardless of profit. This includes both realized P&L and floating losses on open positions.
What lot size is safe for FTMO?

At 0.5% risk per trade on $100,000 ($500 risk), with a 20-pip SL on EUR/USD: Lots = $500 ÷ (20 × $10) = 2.5 lots. This allows 10 consecutive losing trades before hitting the 5% daily limit — a comfortable buffer for most strategies.
When does FTMO refund the challenge fee?

FTMO refunds the challenge fee with your first profit split payout as a funded trader. For example, if you paid $540 for a $100k challenge, it's added to your first withdrawal.
What is the FTMO scaling plan?

Every 4 months, if you achieve at least 10% profit across two consecutive payout periods, FTMO increases your account by 25%. Starting from $100,000, you can scale to $125,000, $156,250, and so on up to $2,000,000. The profit split also increases up to 90%.
